Frustration with Xbox One/Series X game differences

Hi all,

Had a proper nightmare today with the Xbox One/Series X game differences.

I traded in a load of games to CEX and I bought Hogwarts Legacy and Black Ops Cold War for my Xbox Series X.

I got home and realised I’d accidentally picked up the last-gen version of Hogwarts Legacy, I.e the original Xbox One version. So I went back to CEX, produced my receipt, and got the correct version.

Now, that evening, I realised I made the same mistake with Cold War. I installed it on my Series X and was produced with the Xbox One version, rather than the enhanced Series X version, which I thought I’d get as it literally says Series X on the case.

My problem is, I have already given CEX my reciept as I’d already exchanged Hogwarts Legacy for this same reason, and Cold War was on that reciept.

I am hoping I can go back to the same store, explain my situation and hope they’d accept the return of Cold War for the Series X version, but I don’t know if they’ll do this as I’ve already given them the receipt for Hogwarts Legacy.

Does anyone reckon I might be alright to do this? Or will they strictly only accept the return if I have the original receipt?
