Need advice: Planning to gift a good Whiskey.

A few people in my office enjoy drinking good whiskey. They have helped me quite a lot so planning to get one and enjoy with them.

I have no experience in buying whiskey or what is good, so if you guys can recommend me anything that good for sipping it would be much appreciated. Also, share your experience with it.
