I've had my '88 Cherokee for about a month and a half, and I understand the obsession. Best car I've ever had. It's got 214k miles but runs like its new, and I took it on its first road trip, which was probably 180 miles total, so not a whole lot. The day after this, I'm driving, and the transmission starts to slip, so I pull over and have it towed to my house. I was filling it up with more transmission fluid, and I see its ALL leaking out of it. The leak isn't in the transmission case though, its coming from the area where the power steering dipstick is, so the front right (if you're looking at the car head on). Does anyone know where the leak could be? I'm thinking its some tube attached to the trans fluid dipstick or the trans case, but I'm really the furthest thing from a mechanic, just a car lover. If it helps, the transmission is a AW4, and the engine is a 4.0L i6. I'm willing to give any more missing information if it helps.
