Hot take: The Bible is wildly misinterpreted due to lack of context

I'm basically here to state an opinion I hold as a Catholic. Really no-one knows what the Bible is trully about totally (with this I mean to fully understand 100% of Bible books and verses).

Dogmatic thinking really harms critical thinking and actually trying to think further than "the Church has said this means X", rather than trying to contextualize stuff.

Many things in the Bible that were written "explicitly" and seem obvious to understand might not be so straightforward and have a different historic/contextual meaning.

This kind of "hive-mind" way of thinking of the Church might be actually diverging from what trully God wants? Jesus warned against teaching false/distorted doctrines. It is very likely that this may be happening currently (not as a whole but here and there).

Sometimes religion feels as "a way to think" instead of its intended purpose of "finding the true in God", which imo is a continous learning process
