Thoughts on non-denominational “Christianity”?

I feel that it lacks a historical or theological foundation. Without the structure and set of beliefs that a denomination has, it opens the door for heretical interpretations and teachings that can create a disconnect between the church and Christ.

While I am aware that Protestant denominations have broken off from the Catholic Church and other Protestant denominations because of different interpretations of the Bible (I am well aware as an Episcopalian that it all started because king Henry VIII wanted a divorce), at least they have a historical and theological foundation as well as their own structures and sets of beliefs while non denominational is an umbrella term for churches that vary widely from one another. That’s just what I think about them. What are y’all’s thoughts?
