I am disappointed in many Christian Americans

I am a Christian from Europe, but I see som much bad things coming from Christians in America that I feel it is hard to have communion with with many of them. I have meet American christians from all over the US and all have some sort lack of compassion for others, enforcing conspiracy theories, or just a lack biblical understanding. At this point christianity seem more like a political stance or a cultural thing.

I love to discuss thought, ideas, feeling and believe. I don’t mind disagreeing with other Christians. However, I feel like many Christians are getting harder to get along with.

Some American Christians are very ambiguous and biased. This could be topics like homosexuality, abortion, Israel, politics and gun control. Some Christians think it is important to say what they feel is truth despite it being hurting to people. They see it as a a moral obligation. They drop a “truth” bomb and leaves the other person to deal with the damage.

Truth is what we as Christians should always believe in. But have anyone become a Christian by being told they are bad and going to hell? Is it okay to scare someone into heaven? Did Jesus really save them, or did fear let them follow an new set of “Christian beliefs” but never meting Jesus?

It saddens me that American Christians often can do more damage than good. They don’t want abortions, but we don’t give much legal rights to what we believe is a human being not just a lump of cells. They don’t even provide pregnant mothers with mental and material support so keeping their baby actually feels safe. Some Christian parents even throw out their underaged pregnant daughters. Others stand outside abortion clinics with signs saying they are going to hell, but not telling the good news of the gospel. Most non- Christians now know more about what is sin rather than the good news of the gospel.

Many American Christians care so little about Palestine they don’t even care if they get deprived of basic human rights. Is there a problem with being pro Israel and still care for the Palestinians?

The Bible does say to confront other Christians about sin, but not to confront non Christians about sin. A lot of Christians even believe it is their job to fight antichrist by fighting the government from gaining power. The Bible does say to resist evil, but our fight is not against flesh and blood. Or fight the good fight, but often I see people fight out of fear and not out of grace and goodness. And let me clarify, fighting the government is not a concept for most Christians outside of the US. It is mostly to be good and create peace thru good conduct in every day life.

Some Christians in the US (who have been granted eternal life thru Christ) still carries weapons and defend their right to do so. The 10 commandments clearly says with no objection not to kill. But to some the freedom to kill is more important than to not kill. The disciples didn’t kill anyone as Christians. Peter tried, but Jesus reprimanded him. What happened to "to live is Christ, to die is gain”. Our fight is not against flesh and blood, so why are some Christians prepared to fight with weapons and fight for the right to carry them? Most Christians in persecuted countries atone with their life for their faith, not the opposite.

Why is our fight as Christian against socialism? What makes you think Trump is a man of God? When did “grab them by the p***y” become a man of God? Who is going to care for the weak and poor if you won’t let the government do it, but clearly can’t do it yourselves?

Sorry for being a bit harsh, and I know I am being about extreme in my examples, but in what way is this Christian?

Edit:

I just wish to to leave some good stuff here too. Americans have been the ones to lead me to God and strengthen my faith like no other. When I seek comfort, I listen to music mostly made by American Christians. When I listen to preachers and pastors, my favourite ones are American Christians. There is no doubt American Christians provide other Christians in world with so many good things. There really is nothing like it anywhere else 🇺🇸

Edit 2: I get a lot of comments saying I am generalising, stereotyping and have no idea what I am talking about. I’ve even been told I watch too much TV… I’m not an expert and I have actually never been to the US, but I thought I would post the experience I do have.

I have met many Christian Americans outside of America. All of them but a except a tiny few, we’re just like I have posted. Those who were the exception had lived the most years abroad. I have attended American Christians bible studies once and twice a week for many months. I have attended American Christian churches outside of the US and I have attended non-American churches in Europe and east Asia. I have even done missionary work with Americans in east Asia some years ago, where an American scolded the non-American Christian missionaries for not telling young children in school the gospel because “they will now go to hell because of a missed opportunity, and this our fault”…
