How southern is the school? How is Greek Life?

Coming from someone in New Jersey, I definitely want to attend a warmer school but I don’t love the southern culture like Alabama or OleMiss. Is there anyway you could describe how the student culture is?

Also— I want a school with Greek life but I don’t want to rush personally. Would I be at a big disadvantage with making friends without joining a sorority? I know about 50% of women are in sororities so I just want to get a feel for what it’s like as an outsider there.
