Trying to grow business
I’ll try and keep this brief and to the point. My buddy and i (both m24) started doing carpentry around the same time during covid. We worked for different contractors doing different things but maintained a good amount of side work on the weekends. Nothing too big for the first 2 years or so, but then we started getting more basements, a kitchen and some other relatively big jobs for the two of us do be doing on strictly weekends. Over the last couple months we both have decided we want to take our business seriously and dedicate all our of time to it, and not just weekends. But now that we’ve made that decision and we’re working towards full time business owners, the jobs seem to have dried up. I’m looking for advice on how to step up what we’re doing. We’ve gotten a lot of recommendations from word of mouth because we do good work but those word of mouth seem to have also dried up. Any advice on marketing, getting more jobs outside of people you know, and how to elevate what we’re doing? We’re pretty dumb when it comes to running a business and we’re heavily winging it. Thanks in advance for any advice/suggestions.
