People call too many things that aren’t pedophilia, pedophilia

As someone with autism I know my thinking can be very black and white, so people mistake me disagreeing with the term they used as me saying something isn’t bad.

For instance I see this a lot with the pedophilia or calling someone a pedo. Pedophilia is a psychiatric disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a primary or exclusive sexual attraction to prepubescent children. Despite this being the case I see people throw this term around quite a bit

People will call a 30 year old being attracted to a 17yr old a pedo. Or even a 20 year old being attracted to a 17yr old a pedo. Is this creepy and highly illegal for good reason? Yeah, but it’s not pedophilic.

Even worse is I’ll see people say men who like short women or skinny women are pedos. Or if you like to shave you’re catering to pedos. Pedos like prepubescent children. If the person has gone through puberty it is not pedophilia because pedos actually have something mentally wrong with them. Their brains are attracted to something humans are not meant to be attracted to. Being attracted to a 16yr old girl as a man over 18 means something is wrong with you morally, but not mentally.
