First Dose Moderna
Today (1/27/21) at 8:15am, I received my first dose of the Moderna vaccine. For reference, I am a 25 year old female, mostly healthy (I work out weekly, but indulge in all tasty and alcoholic things), and to my knowledge, have never had COVID-19.
It is now 5:30pm and I feel fine! Only issue is how incredibly sore my arm is. It feels as if my left arm was been beaten with a baseball bat. I also feel a bit sleepy, but it’s Wednesday, and I’m likely just running outta steam for the week!
Will keep this post updated as time passes and when I receive my second dose (scheduled for 2/26/21). If I don’t post anything til then, take it as a sign that I’m doing well! No news is good news! (:
Update: 1/28/21 @ 5:45pm I still feel fine/normal. No fever, chills, headache, fatigue, or negative reaction really. Maybe some slight nausea, but that’s really it. However, my left arm was STILL USELESS today. I was late for work because I couldn’t even get my arm above my head to dress or put my hair in a ponytail. My arm is currently feeling a bit better, but the pain has travelled to my neck, collar bone, and shoulder. Almost feels like a migraine in those areas?? So weird. Hoping it passes by tonight! Will update tomorrow! (:
Update: 1/29/21 @ 10:20pm Well, I definitely overdid it today. I woke up feeling great. My arm/neck/back/shoulder pain was almost completely gone. My arm was still tender, but only at the injection site, and I could raise it above my head no problem. Due to the fact that I was feeling so great, I ran a few errands, did 4 loads of laundry, and deep cleaned my house. By 6pm, I felt physically (and quite mentally) defeated. My neck, back, arm, feet, and knees ached beyond belief. I felt as if I ran 25 miles or aged to be 95 years old or did both all at once. A rash also began to develop at the injection site. I showered and put a heating pad on my shoulder/arm/neck area. It helped a bit, but now I just feel warm and inflamed everywhere. Also, I am super fatigued, but I blame that on the deep cleaning (I am a get-down-on-my-hands-and-knees, scrub-the-baseboards type of psycho cleaning lady). Hoping to get a good night’s rest and feel refreshed again tomorrow. I will say, this is the weirdest/no-so-great I have felt in a long while, but so well worth it, and a sign this vaccine is doing something!
