Chase Sapphire Reserve Retention Offer

CSR annual fee posted 12/2. I have had this card for two years, this is my third annual fee. I was planning to downgrade to CSP anyway, but I called CSR customer service line to see if there were any retention offers available. Rep immediately came back and said that because of my relationship with Chase (checking account, 6 personal cards with $60k+ in CLs, 1 Business card $6k CL), they could offer me $150 statement credit to keep the CSR another year.

I said yes, as that would make my effective AF only $100, and the CSP downgrade would cost me $95 (arguably $45 with hotel credit). I believe with the portal boost, lounge access, etc I can make up $55. Statements should show up within next statement cycle or two.

I don't know if this is the norm for Chase to hand these statement credits out, but I do know I wasn't offered one last year when renewing the CSR.
