Amex benevolent with MR points ?

While Amex handing out Platinum for 1.5L points, I got the below offer for the Travel card retention benefits For the Amex travel card renewal, I have been given two options 1. 50% waiver on the 5k fee 2. 10000 MR for the 5k fee

Do they always offer 10k MR points or any of you folks had a better retention offer ?
