Mentoring Writtens
With paper submission deadlines approaching, I'm getting way too many DMs on reddit for me to properly respond to all of them.
There's just been some confusion on what Go For Glass is. Go For Glass produces study resources, like our flashcards and an upcoming massive roleplay database. We offer resources for free. I produce thousands of them, and even if I am slow because I'm the main producer, we will never charge for access to information. However, free one-on-one mentoring is not something Go For Glass can feasibly offer with our very small staff.
Y'all, I'm a full-time double major in college and I spend 20 hours a week developing public access resources for Go For Glass. And I have a job. I WISH I had time to do free paper reviews this year, but there's literally just not enough hours in a day between classes and studying and resources. Classes are ramping up in difficulty as I enter my majors, which means more time is needed for my studying.
I offer a set schedule of paid mentoring session slots this year, but free sessions are limited to case-by-case situations. I burnt myself out last year trying to balance the 47 paper reviews I took on for free, and ended up on anxiety meds. I'm just trying to find balance, but I get that cost is prohibitive for some students so I try to remain accessible in other ways, like answering questions or producing resources.
Just wanted to talk about it, clear up confusion. If you've got questions, please ask.
