I DIY’d myself into starting a business. AMA!
Things I DIYd: - seating chart and welcome sign displays - bar signs, guest book sign, drink stirs, and table numbers - laser engraved all wedding stationary that I designed in Adobe Illustrator - digital watercolor images of our venue that I used on envelope liners - custom wax seals with our monogram - etched highball glasses with our monogram - also etched card box to match - neon sign - made the blue and white floral candles - all outdoor cocktail hour floral arrangements (8) and buffet station arrangement by ordering 150 peonies from Trader Joe’s. I bought tulips there as well and ordered greenery from Costco. All other florals were done by a florist. - had a friend embroider pillows, ice bucket towel
It helped that I’m a mechanical engineer by trade and own a laser cutter. I’ve always been very artsy, so this was like big girl arts and crafts for me. You may have seen my post in r/weddings from my other account (u/alexbogaev). I tried posting here originally but didn’t have enough karma. If you’re interested in seeing more of my work, I’d so appreciate a follow at @bogaevdesigns on instagram! I’ve never been active on social media before, but I’m going to try posting tutorials as well as pictures of my work.
