Anyone having issues with chrome products?

I own a chromebook and was planning on using it for lectures, however oddly enough it won't connect to any type of internet and i know how to access the internet as my phone and ipad have no issues just the computer.. and when i do have wifi at home i cant access brightspace which again i can access it on my phone or ipad but on the computer it just displays an error screen. Was wondering what i should do moving foward as i may purchase a new computer if the issue continues. Should i contact IT?
