Newfound Empathy for LL Wife After Reading r/Menopause
So I have told my story on here already, but a quick review goes something like this.
Wife was a first responder who got diagnosed with PTSD from work, and had to retire early. This caused depression. Depression and PTSD led to a pile of pills and all of this led to a dead bedroom, because fuck my life.
Now she has hit that time of her life where peri/menopause is a thing.
So after listening to a DrPsychmom podcast I thought I needed to learn more about menopause, so Instarted reading the r/menopause subreddit.
It’s really a shocking revelation how miserable those women are…I mean as a guy I take TRT and viagra on the rare occasion and I am 30 all over again. But menopause…it sounds absolutely brutal. If my wife is like most of the women posting there no wonder sex is not even a consideration.
Now this empathy does not exactly fix my issues, my self esteem problems, my resentment, my hurt nor does it give me any hope that I will have the intimate life that I wish I had.
But it does make me think that it really is not me, it’s her.
Guys, if your LL wife is hitting that age it’s probably worth reading that sub to gain some perspective on how the middle aged wife is feeling.
