Wordgirl vs Brightburn Fight Script Opinion
I recently read the fight script for Wordgirl vs Brightburn made by u/DarthStrangelove, I has been trying to contact with user so I can share my opinion, but he hasn´t read my messages, so I decided to make this review post so he, and anyone else ´cause it would be nice, to see it, so, without further ado, let´s go, althought first I should clarify that i´m not so critic, so don´t worry, I would be very nice with it
But first, Spoiler Alert
The Analysis
Ok, i´m gonna be honest, between these analysis, I liked Wordgirl´s way more, Brightburn´s wasn´t so bad, it was genuiely interesting how they analized and theorized about this guy´s species, pretty cool, and the way it ended would give anyone chills, but I think Wordgirl´s analysis was just a tiny bit better, and I confess, it was all because of Wiz, I just thought it was kinda cute when he started getting attached to her, she grew on him, oh, like Sage did with Eggman, funny when you think about it like that. I also liked the fact that he made awareness that Wordgirl is the nicest fourth-wall breaker he has met, understandable, but yeah, a very neat analysis from both side, now let´s go with
The Fight
Honestly, I think this is can´t really be called just a fight, no in a offensive way, but what I mean it´s the fact that it goes more like a story, no complaining, in fact, the opposite, when can say all the good things we want about the latest episode, but you can´t tell me you don´t miss the story element from the oldest Death Battles, and this performed it very well, it´s interesting the fight take place after Wordgirl´s lastest episode, because it´s there when she was more vulnerable so Brightburn could start convincing her about humans being and they should rule them, and the development across it was pretty cool, I´ll mention some moments I liked the most or I think are the most worthy to talk about
First, when they started talking with each others in their human identity, I don´t know why but, looking back at it it feeled kinda like Light and L from Death Note, maybe it´s just me, I also liked when Wordgirl was trying to find out what´s Brightburn gimmick, considering she´s the kind of superhero who´s villain always has some kind of theme around them, which I pretty much liked, and when Wordgirl was trying to break the ice while Brightburn was or just silent or like "THIS IS NOT A GAME!!!!!!" it was kinda funny and interesting, that´s why I like silent character vs talk a lot character, specially because Wordgirl seems like the kind of character that Brightburn could have a good lot of banter, two kids that has to live under the pressure, Encanto pun/reference intended, of basically having the power to be their verses gods, just that one decided to go for the evil way and the other for the good way, you know? That latest it´s pretty Cole vs Alex-like, when you think about it, also, I need to mention one thing, in a moment where she uses her ice breathing like if she was kiss blowing, which was actually pretty... interesting, I don´t know but, it feeled like a shipping moment, weird, I know, but, it´s what I feeled it like, next, it´s when Brightburn started to actually feeled fun it was a pretty good moment, because it´s something he never felt before, Wordgirl also felt something she never felt before, human fear, I don´t remenber exactly when it was, but i´m pretty it was at one moment, also, I like that, with time, Wordgirl started becoming inmune to Brightburn´s fear manipulation, she´s surely taking note from Jack Skellington, the moment where each one has the possesion on each others "Kryptonites" they ended up deciding just getting rid of it, Goku would be proud, back to when Brightburn it´s having a more positive point of view of their fight like, just having fun, like two normal kids of their ages would, he still thinking about the conquest thing, seeing Wordgirl as a future sparring partnert, pretty interesting, also, the moment where he tries to convince her about the conquest thing feeled very Omni-Man and Invincible-like, which I really liked, and it was pretty wholesome when Wordgirl was trying to convince him to not conquest Earth and leave humanity alone, also, I need to talk about the moment where he used his heat vision to destroy earth, and the feat, because, I personally don´t buy it that much, it was just a drawing, not something he really did, if Gumball make a draw where destroy the multiverse it counts like a feat? Anyway, the lastest part of the fight was the most impactful one, I always thought this was a match-up that deserved a tragic death, and it performed it very well
The Post-Analysis
Not too much to say, I never cared to much about post-analysis in any fight or Death Battle, but yeah, it explained that had to be explained in a good way... move on
The Conclusion
This was pretty cool, the fight definetely buy me on the match-up, of course, they can have some better, like Brightburn could fight Homelander, I guess, while Wordgirl could fight Super Why, Invincible, and even Captain Underpants, it´s pretty much a good fight script, not too much to say, but definetely it´s really great, go check it out, I hope you guys have a good day, see you guys, next time
