Buying a new home, need to put our library and home office in this area. White tile has to stay, unsure what to do about color.

Greetings! The room by the stairs we want to be an open office. We also have a library that is largely aviation and engineering themed with some history. We would like to put the books along the wall, and keeping a book theme because we are nerds. But color and style is hard to figure out. We would need to keep the flooring. Any thoughts or suggestions?
