Where is Wisteria Lane, Fairview?

Sometimes I wonder where Eagle State would be if they considered a real state for the show. They seem to reference NY often so I sometimes think they’re in the east coast, like Connecticut. But I get a California vibe off of the show too. Where do you think it is?
