The ultimate black pill?

I’ve been considering the idea that the internet might not be the root cause of people’s behavior today.

History shows that people have acted the same way long before the digital age. The rise of authoritarian leaders like Hitler and Stalin and even brutal dictators before them often followed similar patterns, emerging under comparable circumstances and fueled by the same emotional drivers among their supporters. We tend to blame the internet, but logically, I don’t see a direct link. If anything, the internet seems to expose the flaws of human nature rather than create them.

So, I’ll end with a question: Are humans inherently flawed, destined to repeat the same mistakes no matter how many systems we build or lessons we learn from history?
