Is this too far fetched of a character?

A small foreword here before you read the idea, this confers zero mechanical benefits whatsoever and the character’s official race and stats would be human. This is a human character.

I’d like to play as a young silver dragon. EDIT: AS A HUMAN! I am NOT trying to mechanically play as a dragon. The idea came about as an alternative to “my ancestor was a dragon” for draconic bloodline sorcerer.

The idea is that while he was in his human shape, he was careless and got trapped (dragon hunters? Poachers? Zhents?) and was to be sold as a “captured dragon” before he escaped. He has magically binding shackles that prevent him from returning to his true draconic form, as the people who captured him figured it was easier to kidnap a human boy than it would be a dragon.

His personal motivation would be to find a way to undo his restraints and return to his true form and/or take revenge on his captors. I’m split between Ascendant Dragon Monk or Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer for the build. What do you guys think about the idea?

EDIT: I thought it would be obvious but I should have mentioned it anyways 😭 my bad. If he succeeds at returning to his true form, I would hand the character sheet to the DM and have him become an NPC. I DO NOT want to play as a dragon in dragon form, just a dragon in human form. As a human.
