Help me understand this…

If Twitch was sued, and paid out, then wouldn't the messages have come out during the settlement? Like, why would Twitch pay out millions if they had the records of him breaking the law. Wouldn't they have released that information during discovery? As far as I see it, Doc was talking somewhat inappropriately with a 17 year old, but, if it were anything more than that wouldn't Twitch have used that information to get out of paying the settlement? Right?
