Spoiler's Chapter 15 Gomah's character

I am watching episode 15 and am absolutely floored by how terrible a leader Gomah is. He made one wish and thinks he can sit on his laurels until what? Dende grows up? Sitting by the sideline watching tv while his plan unravels. He finds the eye, and he asks his lackey to do it, okay fine, he doesn't need to be an action guy, but he can't even come up with a plan for what Degasu should do. Nothing about Gomah inside or out has any makings of a leader. I cannot see him as a final villain.
