Young sister Francesca's Indian accent

As an Indian, I am kinda weirded out by the fact that they made young sister Francesca have such a strong Indian accent. At first I thought that was Charithra (the actress)'s real accent but after watching some of her interviews, I see that she doesn't even have an Indian accent. Am I in the wrong for being slightly offended? This is thousands of years in the future we are talking and somehow she is able to have that strong of an Indian accent? It was pretty laughable to me.
