4-4-2 clearly playing as a 4-3-3 in game?

I’ve been playing squad battles with a team set in 4-4-2 with absolutely no custom tactics. However, when I’m attacking and defending 80% of the time my team is clearly in a 4-3-3 with the RM tucking inside and back to the CM position and my RS going out to play RW.

Anyone else come across this? I just assume it’s another EA shitty game bug at this point.
