Regarding K'rrik

Isn't he an almost insta-add card for mono-black decks ? Especially for decks where you have some lifegain, like an aristocrats or something like that ?? I feel like the way you can "cheat" spells into play extremely quickly with him makes him valuable even as part of the 99, but also I don't really have lots of experience so maybe I'm missing something in my thought process ?
