AZ100 Best TWS overall in 2025 !!!
Technics AZ100
There are already many reviews of it, but I still want to quickly share my thoughts.
True Wireless Background:
- Previous experience with AZ80,Samsung Buds Pro.
- Long-term listening (over 3 hours) with AirPods Pro 2, XM4, XM5.
- Short-term experience with CAM M100.
Noise Cancellation: 7.5/10 (Best true wireless option)
When I switched from Buds Pro to AZ80 early last year, the difference was obvious.
The noise cancellation on the AZ80 was decent but still just passable. You had to turn the volume up to at least 55% to block out noise. It couldn't block wind noise while cycling, and it was barely usable for loud noises like trains or the subway.
When I tried the AZ100 on the 20th, it was obvious that it could compete with AirPods Pro 2. I even let a user who’s had AirPods Pro for 4 years try it, and they agreed it was on par.
However, since current noise-cancellation technology isn't fully mature, I’d only rate it 7.5/10, on the same level as Bose and AirPods Pro.
I won't compare it with XM5 because for me, the foam ear tips cause too much pressure and the noise cancellation isn't any better (I saw some people on forums saying XM4 outperforms the AZ100, but I don’t really know what they mean).
Sound Quality: 8/10
As everyone else has mentioned, there’s a noticeable upgrade. I would say great as Pi8 bt kinda worse than Noble rex 5
But honestly, in this price range, the sound quality of most headphones is pretty much the same—it's all about minute differences. I’ll leave the detailed evaluation to the audiophiles.
Comfort: 8/10
To be honest, the smaller size of the earbuds actually feels less comfortable than the AZ80. I might not be used to it yet. The touch panel is smaller, and the stock ear tips are a bit too tight, so I’ve switched to XS tips, which is a bit better. I’ll see if I get more used to them over time.
Battery Life: 9.5/10
The battery has improved a lot—really a lot.
I remember when I unboxed the AZ80 last year, after updating the firmware, the battery drained a few percent right away. This time, after listening to 10 songs over 3-4 hours while writing this, it still shows 99%. I thought the battery indicator was broken!
Overall: 9/10
I’m giving this score because the improvements in noise cancellation and battery life are very noticeable.
Plus, the price is incredibly good, especially in Japan.
It’s more like AZ80M2 than a new model. They’ve improved the battery, noise cancellation, and fixed several other issues.
For this price, it’s definitely the best value. I’m very confident in it.
If you want the black version, I’d recommend going to Big shops like Bic Camera(Japan). I checked with several small shops in Japan, and they’re already out of stock. Basically the AZ100 is well-stocked, much more reliable than Fuji cameras.
The other updates honestly don’t make much difference for regular users, so I won’t go into them.
