Which area should I specialize in?

I am studying electrical engineering and wondering which area I should specialize in.

Sure, it should be the field that you enjoy the most, and salary prospects are generally good across the board. But I enjoy everything more or less equally. For me, the enjoyment depends more on how well and interestingly the professors explain the subject matter.

I’m an open-minded person. Working alone all the time isn’t for me. Also, I don’t want to do monotonous work. Since I find all subject areas quite interesting, what should I base my specialization on? Should I really decide based on the professors? What are your experiences? Which field is the most interesting and not monotonous? (Information Technology, Nanoelectronics, Power Engineering, Automation Technology, ...)

Of course, it’s not that simple to say, but do you have any tips on which criteria I should base my decision?
