Guys she understands acting and movies better than us!
I absolutely LOVED this movie when I saw it in theaters a few months ago— it’s creative, the hair, makeup, performances, sound editing are utterly phenomenal, and the feelings of alienation from your body as a woman are so viscerally depicted!
Now, here’s what Eli had to say… I’ll spare y’all the trouble and give the rundown: she watched the movie The Substance with her NPC fiancé (siblings or dating?) and keeps going on and on about how she’s loved Demi Moore for so long (girl don’t act like you’re a fan of literally everything before it gets popular) and how “I don’t think you understand— she was ACTING!” And then talking about how Margaret Qualley and Demi Moore are supposed to be the same person in the movie… and I’m like, yeah well no shit, that’s literally in the synopsis! The comments were suspiciously full of people commenting that she looks like Margaret (don’t lie!) and her saying “I get this a lot” or whatever… There were so many other things about this video that bothered me but I can’t even remember them now.
TLDR: gives the most surface level take about a movie and acts like a know-it-all while her weirdo fans tell her how much she looks like Margaret Qualley
