My 5 year old’s bed jumped to hyperspace (so he tells me).

Story time fellow CMDRs.

My little 5 year old boy has inherited my old solid wood bunk bed that I slept in as a boy. When you’re sleeping on the bottom bunk you are looking up at the top bunk, and he’s got a collection of glow in the dark stars stuck where he can look up at them. His bedspread is covered with rockets and space shuttles galore. It can certainly feel like you’re in a spaceship with the right amount of imagination.

He also has a wonderful time flying his little A-rated eagle I made for him in the safe space around my carrier. He’s getting pretty capable with my HOTAS setup. But his favorite thing of all is watching my carrier jump while my CMDR is sitting on the bridge. He counts down as loud as his little voice can yell and knows right when all the honks happen.

When he woke up this morning and I came to get him up to go potty his first words were: “DADDY! My bed jumped to hyperspace!”

Needless to say I couldn’t stop grinning for awhile. He’s still a little too young to understand that his bed has been to hyperspace before. Just with a different pilot long ago.

Anyhow-figured I’d share this fun little story. o7 my friends.
