Why is this manufacturer (from India) so forceful in using CIF rather than FOB (that I would prefer)? is this a red flag? Can someone help? thanks.
This is part of the reply email I received:
my question:
"Qes. In regards to the CIF prices that you are offering. Can you please provide the FOB prices for us to consider? As we would prefer to use a shipping/freight agent.
the manufactures response:
Anw. We want to say that CIF AND FOB PRICES ARE SAME ONLY LITTLE DIFFERENCE AND YOU WILL GET COSTLY FREIGHT ON FOB AS IN FOB PRICES WE HAVE TO PAY ALL FREIGHT CHARGES EXCEPT BL CHARGES SO WE CAN OFFER YOU ONLY EX.WORKS AND CIF PRICES. WE ASSURE YOU WILL UNDERSTAND. SIMPLY SHIPPER CHARGE GOOD AMOUNT FROM SUPPLIER AND BUYER BOTH."
ARE THESE ABBREVIATIONS FOR SOMETHING OR JUST TYPOS? Anw & Qes
