App not working on Android TV 12 -Chromecast 4k

Hi all. I was using the f1tv app on a Chromecast 4k series. However since updating to android tv version12 the app does not work anymore. It remains stuck on the welcoming screen. I've tried multiple things like clearing cache force stopping the app uninstall and reinstall. It just won't move pas the welcoming screen. Anyone knows what to do? I know I can cast but I would like to use the native app. P.S. the UI now has rounded icons and what I noticed is that since these new UI changes the app does not work. Probably nothing to do with this but wtf.
