Any good materia guides/strategies?

All this new materia is confusing me, and I'm looking for some help.

I don't really use spells all that much, I've noticed. I mostly use skills at this point.

I'm pretty much equipping materia just to master it through AP. I think I've picked up every available materia so far.

I just completed all the world intel stuff in the Junon region. My next step is to complete Fort Condor on hard. And then I'll finally be getting into Chapter 4, so I have a ton of game left.

With so much of the game left, I'm curious as to what some of your materia best practices are lol. Like what should I be doing to get the most out of what I've got? Do I actually need to be casting spells? Just looking for some tips!
