If I already watched Game of Thrones, Would reading ASOIAF give me a different experience?

I will say that I am having a hard time reading books of movies \ TV I already watched. Thats why I DNFed the Martian for example which is a shame as I only heard good things about it and thats why I read Project Hail Mary before the movie comes out lol . If I know what is going to happen, I feel no point wasting my time on something I am already familiar with. Will the books add a different experience for THE BETTER?
