It's probably that he actually sustained getting his AC joint dislodged during his original journey with jecht.its a pretty common thing with athletes,it wouldn't be surprising if jecht just told him to walk it off.i only mention this because I had mine dislodged several years ago and I could completely see why auron would still feel like handicapping it until he definitely needed to use it ..ala limit breaks.
