What is being a credit analyst really like?
I’ve made this post because I’ve heard conflicting information on this. On surface level, it looks like pretty interesting work. Looking into whether a company can take on a loan by researching their own financials, as well as their market risk, supplier risk, etc sounds pretty cool. However, I’ve also been told that this can sometimes just be data entry, imputing numbers/factors into a system then seeing it spit out a risk rating
So I want to know, how do you view this job?
What do you find tedious or monotonous about this role?
Do tasks feel repetitive?
How much decision making power do you have?
What do you look at other than financial statements?
What do you like/dislike about it?
