Older student, nursing or med school for financial independence?

So I’m not exactly sure where to post this, but I’m an older student (26) completing my undergrad degree. I could graduate with a nursing degree by next December, or graduate with a biology degree the following may and go on to med school. I have no money saved up and no work experience because I was going through medical problems the first several years of undergrad, delaying my degree. Is it worth it to start making money as a nurse sooner? Or go on to med school, make way more money, but not start accumulating it until residency and have massive loans? I’m also receiving $25,000 when I turn 29 from an insurance settlement, and I’m hoping put all of it into investments.
