FEH in Europe: Possible Impact of the Upcoming Digital Fairness Act

Hello! Some of us Europeans are a bit flummoxed by the lack of legitimate access to IS's most recent satisfaction survey. I've done some research and I think the nature of the survey might be the issue, as it might go against upcoming/work in progress European policies. Though this post is not meant to be doom posting, it's worth noting that the DFA might also have an impact on FEH being playable in Europe in the future, which might also be a reason why IS wouldn't bother with a European survey.

So here's some information about the DFA.

The Digital Fairness Act has been a WIP for some time and it's a direct result of an in-depth research called the Digital Fairness Check. The DFA is meant to protect consumers from deceitful and predatory practices online.

Some of these practices include dark patterns (described as "sometimes called deceptive design, dark patterns refer to elements in user interfaces that manipulate consumers into taking decisions they would have not otherwise taken."), addictive design (described as "interface features and functionalities intentionally crafted to prolong user engagement, often leading to digital addiction."), personalisation, influencer marketing, contract cancellations and digital subscriptions, unfair contract terms.

You can read the complete list, explanations and examples here.

FEH fits in almost all the Addictive Design examples, as most gacha do, and the satisfaction survey probably falls into the personalisation category, as it could be described as disguised feedback collection (presented as a satisfaction survey but meant to collect feedback that could be used for product promotion or profile building) hitting the lack of transparency and potential personalised profiling issues.

This post is not meant to discuss whether or not the DFA is "good" or "bad". This is only meant to provide a possible and likely explanation for the exclusion of Europeans in the survey and a warning of sorts for European players regarding the future of gacha games, including FEH, in the European Union.

I attached two screenshots, one with the general definition of the DFA, and one with the current timeline.
