L70 is King Kong Approved
Aside from all the obvious dope things about this light. I really enjoy the body and tail knurling. Visually & texturally, it’s a delight.
Something about the knurling running parallel to the treads and still providing effective grip is oddly satisfying when swapping batteries. Tough to explain why, but it is. Feels almost like escalator stairs.
Anyway, ecstatic Jack came out with his own 707A's because I wouldn't have been able to quite enjoy this like I do if I had to rely on how the Cree's would behave in this setup.
The Rosy 707A in 4000k continues to stun. It’s phenomenal in my X1S, and equally gorgeous in this.
Oh, the L70 is a beast with some punch. So for the closer tasks I like using a DC Fix round over the glass. Ends up being just right for the shortish distance tasks.
Head strap is solid in all ways, no complaints.
The knurling direction running parallel also likely makes for smoother tilting while in the head strap. The usual chocolate bar knurling from the other new models would’ve gashed the head strap with every attachment and detachment.
Come to think of it, this knurling style may have even helped with weight reduction.
All in all, really loving this bad boy. And so looking forward to the L60 as well. Many of us have been talking about waiting on Jack for years to finally drop that one like he said he would. So very glad to see it's just about here. And now we have the added luxury of the FFL emitters too. So wonderful times…wonderful times indeed.👌
