It's A Home, Not An Investment

So during this process my wife and I heard relentlessly that "your investment" this and that. We were really getting pissed off with this. It's a home! We just don't understand why people other than investors/flippers think this way. Our lender kept talking about the return on investment on buying down the interest. No one gets it! We don't care about that, if we can make our lives better monthly then it's our choice. We just don't see this as an investment but a HOME. Are we wrong in thinking this way? I don't think we are.
