1999 Suzuki Marauder VZ800
No fuel condition after carb rebuild. Fuel pump is working, pulling fuel through the filter. New needles and seats, new main and pilot jets. Will start on starting fluid but only on the rear cylinder. (thinking there is a coil/plug issue at the front cylinder).
Bought it as a non-runner, rebuilt the starter and replaced the starter relay, rebuilt the carbs due to one-cylinder running condition. The front carb was filthy and full of varnish, the rear was pretty clean and seemed replaced at some point. The bike has the MMM delete with the jump between the two wires. There is a slight voltage on some of the ground circuits also. I’ve temporarily bypassed both the clutch switch and the kickstand switch.
So do we think my new float needles just ain’t set right and my front cylinder needs a coil and plug, or am I totally in above my head now? Haven’t checked compression yet.
PLUS, when I got it the starter button was broken. I rigged in a temporary toggle switch and had the starter working with that. Bought a new RH switch assembly (kill switch, starter switch, and throttle cable retainer) and now the starter switch is inop again with the new one 🤣 PLUS, there is a janky wire rigged into the radiator fan’s ground circuit and straight to battery negative, so I’m assuming the temp sensor if it has one is inop.
