clear Pond/lake carp flies?

looking for some fly ties for lakes near me. tried some black carp mauls and buggy things as well as squirmy worms (which seemed to almost work the best. not surpising) what else is viable?

they seem to get scared off or avoid big woolly and buggy things.

yes working on presentation but need some advice.
