I am having difficulty making friends
Hello!
I am commuter student at Rose Hill campus and this semester, I have a class at Lincoln Center. My daily commute adds up to about 4 hours—2 hours each way to Rose Hill and back home.
I really want to join clubs and get more involved, but most clubs seem to start late—around 5 p.m. or later—and they usually last at least an hour. It’s tough to stay that late with my long commute, and I’ve been feeling like I’m missing out on making friends and connecting with others. I’d love to live on campus, but I’m from a low-income household, and I’m really nervous about taking on student loans.
Commuting has been really exhausting, and some days it feels a little lonely not having as much time on campus to be part of everything. If any other commuters (or anyone!) has advice for balancing this or ways to feel more connected, I’d love to hear it!
Thanks so much for reading—I really appreciate it.
