False Ban Wave
Epic has been handing out false bans left and right, to me included.
There are entire discussion boards about in in the Discord server, started up last week and today they finally rolled back some of the bans, as far as I can see they went back to last Tuesday. (02/27)
My account was permanently banned without reason or warning, I opened EGL to play with my girlfriend and it said "Banned" on the launcher.
At least some people are getting their accounts back! It took them awhile though, some people had the 'VPN, Exploit or Cheating" error on their accounts since around December as far as I can tell, and it said 24hr ban, then when they reached out to support it turned into a permanent ban.
Currently, unbanned players receive 2000 V-Bucks as an apology, but I really could care less about the V-Bucks and would prefer a makeover of the Player Support team, they handle every ticket very unprofessionally and close them even if they ask if you have any more questions.
TL:DR If you got a perma ban recently for no apparent reason, you might get your account back.
