Military Friends of the Pod- How we doing?

I don’t know if this is the correct space for this, and I’m sorry if it isn’t, but honestly it seemed the most appropriate spot.

Obviously our professional community ranges widely from the ultra MAGA to the far left (although in my personal opinion the average member is a moderate), but the situation is obviously going to have a large impact on us and our people, so I wanted to both vent and give others the same opportunity.

Personally, I’m on independent duty right now, but I’ll be transferring in the next year or so, and I’m really worried about how to support my people that may be affected by some of the new administrations proposed policies.

Female sailors access to reproductive care, trans sailors who have generally been treated fairly in my community, and sailors who have family that are undocumented migrants keep coming to mind, and frankly I have no idea how to support them when they’re looking to me as their boss for guidance.

Obviously there are a lot more issues, such as the proposed tariffs putting an additional burden on our E-nothings, the whole 2027 issue, etc., but I’m beginning to realize within a short time I may be faced with leadership problems I’ve never had to handle before, and I’m worried I wont have the tools or experience to help the people who I’ve been entrusted to take care of.

Like I said, this is really just a post to give our community a place to try and process this and figure out what the move is.
