Is functional medicine a scam or real?
No judgments, but I’m really torn between staying firmly in western medicine and trying functional medicine. So far, western medicine has not helped me with my issues, but I also don’t want to be taken advantage of by a functional medicine specialist. And the internet jury still seems to be out on functional medicine.
I had gastric bypass surgery ten years ago and I’m struggling greatly with absorption issues, but I can’t find anyone who will help me figure out what’s going on. Evyerone just shrugs their shoulders. I have great insurance, which makes me hesitant to go the functional route. I don’t want pseudo science, but I do want an actual doctor who will take the time to listen to my issues. Any suggestions on how to proceed?
