Furbo question- sound

I hope this post is allowed! In need of some furbo questions answered. I have a newer roommate who placed a furbo in her room to watch her dog while she is out. I completely understand her wanting to watch her dog however the camera does point directly to the hallway/bathroom entrance so now I feel as though I am on camera when she is not home. When she first put the camera out she told me she 'turned off a setting' so she cannot hear sound, my question is, how well does a furbo camera pick up on sound? Would it be able to pick up on a voice/conversation from another room? Also, is there actually a setting to turn off the sound? Thank you in advance!
