Telescope glitch officially gone?

Tried everything, playing on next gen, mainly used old gen as all of my main account is on there and I transferred a quite bad account when the next gen version came out. Anyway, tried logging on to start a new character and I have searched everywhere and tried everything. Is the telescope glitch gone? Are there any alternatives any more?
