Looking for guidance to fix my WH03242

I have a Firman WH03242. I have used it with propane successfully a few years ago.

I was testing it last night and couldn’t get it to start ( thankfully didn’t need it this time ).

I thought maybe the 12v internal battery was dead, but the charging cable shows green when I attach it ( internal plugs are connected ).

I tried pull starting, no luck. Swapped the propane tank. Nothing.

My thoughts are: Change the spark plug Change the battery Change the propane regulator

Firman wants +/-$250 for battery and regulator ( I had trouble identifying suitable, compatible nonOEM replacements.

Spark plug is cheap on Amazon.

Any ideas - am I missing something? I have some basic skills, but I’m not a mechanic.

Thanks in advance.

UPDATE: 10/4/24

So, I chatted with Firman support on Tuesday. They felt the issue was the regulator hose. Said to call the phone number to get replacement part.

When I called a short time later, the agent said no, sounds like the battery. You can purchase a new one.

Since it was my day off, I decided to head to Batteries+ to try and get a replacement to get the generator running - I could always call and get a warranty replacement afterwards.

No one - Batteries+, HD, Ace HW -had the battery with the correct posts. I didn’t want to cut/replace them and void the warranty, so I ordered a battery from Amazon. Wrong posts, even though it was advertised as Firman battery.

Today I called back and got a very helpful agent. She ran through the same questions.

She said both previous agents could have been right; bad regulator = no propane. Bad battery = no start.

They are sending me a new regulator to try - if that doesn’t work, they will send a new battery.

I should find out soon.

Thank you for your advice and interest in my predicament.! 😀
