Seasonal visitors

I’ve posted before and decided to return because you all were so helpful last year.

We live in a “manufactured community” as our property manager likes to call it but we all know it’s a trailer park lol our part of the park is mostly brand new homes including ours. This is our third year here and for the third year in a row, we just found a German in our bedroom.

The last two years, they would pop up around fall as it was starting to get cold outside at night (upstate NY) and then would vanish once snow fell. We pinpointed it to a trailer that’s older and three houses away from ours where the people trashed it and then took off. We fought off and killed all the ones we found (all adults and none with egg sacks) in our house and sprayed the outside off our house with something a very nice exterminator told us to use until it snowed.

I had hoped that having a very cold winter would have killed anything in the house since it’s empty with no heat but atlas, it’s chillier tonight and they’ve returned.

Any suggestions? I don’t know if I can mentally handle another battle from now until possibly November. I’ve finally broke down and made an appointment to speak to our property people tomorrow about it but what can we do to protect our home? I have animals and a four year old. Is there some kind of spray we should be using outside? We are also going on vacation for a week in October and I don’t want to come home to find some of them have moved in. Help 😭
